It’s October, and fall and Halloween are around the corner. Don’t miss out on this prime opportunity to brand yourself. Whether you have listings or not, there are many creative ways you can market to prospects and clients to generate more leads this Halloween. Here’s part II of our popular Halloween blog last year.
Get your neighborhood in the Halloween spirit by passing out pumpkins. It’s not a new idea, but tying a friendly little note with your photo and logo onto the pumpkin can be a great way to get your name out and gain a favorable impression in the community.
You could even turn this into a pumpkin carving contest. On a designated date and time, instruct the contestants to put a candle in their jack o’lantern creation and leave it in an allocated spot to participate (driveway, doorstep or by the mailbox). Select the “winning” jack o’lantern creations by leaving a first, second and third place ribbon with “Sponsored by” sign displaying your name and contact information.
Keep this as a running tradition in your neighborhood, your contest will grow and so will your name!
Send a Halloween Postcard
Seasonal postcards are generally well received by prospects and clients, and they give you an excuse to connect. It’s early in the month, but we are already seeing a spike in orders. Particularly the Halloween recipe card is performing better than others. Don’t scoff. The recipe is for pumpkin spice syrup. Who doesn’t love that? Placing a Home Estimate map on the back side of this card makes it a huge winner.
Prep Your Flyer Boxes
With trick-or-treaters and parents going door to door, it’s the perfect opportunity for your listing to be seen. Get in the Halloween spirit by creatively decorating your yard signs (spider webbing is a no-brainer!). They will most likely be seen by a lot of people so make sure your flyer boxes are fully stocked with flyers.
Be sure you include a call to action on your property flyers directing homeowners to your personal website or single property website. Maybe add a recipe card to the flyer box so your prospects have something they can save for later.
Gifts for Current & Past Clients
Show your current and past clients that you are thinking of them by hand-delivering a small gift. A thoughtfully put together Halloween or fall-themed gift basket could go a long way. For example, you could throw in some pumpkin bread from your local bakery, seasonal flowers or plants, and a gift certificate for a free house cleaning.
Offer to Provide the Treats
For all your listings that are on the market, you can incorporate any or all of the above ideas. You could also leave a bowl of candy with your business card attached for the homeowners to share with trick-or-treaters.
Haunted House or Dress-Up Competition
Get the whole neighborhood talking! Host a Halloween competition for a fun way to keep your clients engaged. In your email or newsletter let your clients know that you are hosting a haunted house or dress-up competition. Then have them send pictures of their spooky haunted house, cute pets or kids dressed up. Post the winner in your newsletter and on your website. Offer prizes such as a free house cleaning or gift cards.
